this is a, "as if i don't have any other writing i should be doing..." kind of post.

DRABBLE ME.

the first 5 people who leave me prompts (A MAXIMUM OF 5. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, KATY) will get them written, probably within the next few days. i'm thinking short. ...i hope. i don't know, i've been known to suddenly write really huge, long monsters based off prompts in the past, so i mean, whatever happens!

fandoms, of course, include the following: KAT-TUN, NEWS, Kanjani8, Arashi, Merlin, Psych, House, Empire Records, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Final Fantasy 8, bandom. (and an, if you do this, i'm totes willing to write our plethora of original characters. so.)

of course, i have a bunch of other shit that i probably SHOULD be writing, but you know what, i am a natural procrastinator. (also, i just forgot what i had written for je_hols at the office and i have no way of retrieving it. fail, self. fail.)

i'll talk about my jin weekend sometime this week, also. promises.

MAXIMUM OF 5, WHAT IS THIS DOUCHEBAGGERY?

Aight, aight, fine, I'll abide by rules. ;)

PROMPT: Kame shows up for a 'Girls' brainstorming session, feeling slightly left-out, and Junno tries to get him to understand that he's still important.

PROMPT: Jin + Junno + getting stuck on the side of the road. Your choice of where and when.

PROMPT: Junno, Yasu, Massu, and Aiba have to watch horrible, soul-crushing chick-flicks. Describe the scene of them watching these things, and how many boxes of tissues they go through.

PROMPT: Jocelyn, Katy, Jin, Lizzy, Juice, and the Elvis impersonator go drinking. Insanity ensues.

Look, I only gave you four!!! 0:D

WAIT SINCE I ONLY GAVE YOU FOUR, I'M GIVING YOU ANOTHER ONE.

PROMPT: Ueda's solo cons, and Junno going to watch to be "supportive"; does he hang out backstage and what exactly goes on there afterwards? (bonus points for any inappropriate use of boxing equipment)

the ending devolved so i'm a bit, "wat" over it but w/e.

Kame is standing in front of a door distinctly marked "studio C", waffling and fidgeting, raising his hand every so often to try to knock, but he's been repeating the same motions for the past fifteen minutes already. If only the stupid battle waging between his head and heart would just shut up.

He knows what the scene's going to look like if (when) he opens the door and walks in; Junno rattling off ideas at the speed of light, Koki trying to calm him down to talk about each idea one by one, Nakamaru giving his input when he notices something no one else will. Junno hems and haws about the different points of view, the different perspectives the other two bring up, maneuvers and tweaks them so they all fit together in one cohesive Taguchi-minded package. All in all, it''ll be productive, it'll be full of tangents and random discourse about the thumping of bass, but it's exciting. Kame has never seen Junno this excited about a solo before, even if it's not even really a solo anymore.

No, it's a Nakamaru/Taguchi/Tanaka thing.

He's not jealous -- this is what his mind tells him, because this, this has been going on forever within KAT-TUN, with all their various duets throughout the years. This is just another chance for them to utilize each other's strengths to churn out something good, something they can all take pride in, even if they're not directly involved at all.

His heart, however...

It's dumb. It's so fucking dumb, and Kame knows it is, but he's -- there's just something that twinges when he thinks about Junno bouncing into the dressing room three weeks ago and asking Koki and Maru to work on a song with him. Just them two. He thinks about Junno talking to the two of them -- just the two of them -- and then once they agree (and look pretty darn excited about it), Kame remembers how Junno flounces off in a flurry of lanky limbs and rich chestnut hair to get ready for filming. He doesn't even say anything (at first) about the song to him (or Ueda).

Kame frowns, knocks on the door, pulls his sleeve down to his fingers.

There's a scuffling sound from the other side, a rolling of a chair, and a few seconds later, the door opens and Kame hopes it's Koki so at least he doesn't have to tilt his head up to talk to him. He's not sure he can handle feeling smaller than he already does.

Of course, it's not Koki, but it's Maru, so Kame takes what he can get.

Junno is sitting in a chair in front of the big sound board, legs crossed, notepad in lap, looking all official even in a tattered hoodie and jeans all scuffed at the hem. His look of surprise just reminds Kame that he shouldn't even be there in the first place, shouldn't have knocked on the door.

But he stays anyway, offering a lame excuse when Koki asks why he showed up. Junno just smiles at him, that infuriatingly blinding smile, and rolls Maru's chair closer next to him and pats it. Kame sits; Maru whines about getting his chair stolen, then sits on the couch next to Koki, and they go back to business.

The song is...drastically different than what Junno's been doing up to now. Actually, if Kame could be honest with himself, it's something he wouldn't have pegged Junno to be able to do at all. But there it is -- "GIRLS", in all its tricked out, straight-to-dance-floors glory, making the blood in his veins flow faster, his heart thump harder. The rap parts are a little messy, the harmonies still need to be laid down, but even in its rawest form, Kame knows it's going to be good. Really good.

He also gets why he (and Ueda) wasn't involved.

Suddenly, he feels a lot better about everything.

WTF TWO PARTS

Three hours later, they're packing up; the day was spent mostly reworking some of the lyrics in the raps to help the flow, making sure everything fit in time with the music. Kame straightens a few harmonies out for them and all in all, progress is made.

Koki and Maru leave first, both citing some new restaurant they wanted to try out, and Kame waves as they leave. He whirls around at a tap on his shoulder.

"What do you think of the song?" Junno asks without preamble.

"It's -- " Kame begins, then stops. He's not sure what to say about it, really. "It's good." He finishes, and it sounds awful and trite even to his own ears.

This doesn't stop Junno from beaming like an idiot, though, as he's putting on his coat. "Really? Ahhh, I'm so glad!" He pauses, fixes Kame with a stare as he buttons his coat up. "Thank you for helping with the harmonies, too. They probably would've sounded awful otherwise."

Kame busies himself with his sweater. "Heh, well. You'd figure it out eventually."

"So," Junno begins, topping off his ensemble with a knit cap. "Do you feel better now?"

Kame stays rooted to the spot. He's actually pretty sure his mouth is hanging open, which is really undignified, but -- what?

Junno just laughs, takes Kame's hat from his fingers and tugs it onto Kame's head. "You're really easy to read, you know. Or maybe you just forget that I've known you for practically a decade already." He leads Kame out of the studio and locks up as Kame's gathering his thoughts.

"...well, this is embarrassing." Kame says a few moments later. The keys jingle in Junno's hand as they walk to the front desk to return them and sign out. Junno stays quiet as he's writing, as he's thanking the receptionist, as they walk out the doors and onto the sidewalk.

Finally, he turns to Kame and flicks his forehead. "Stupid. We'll always have 'Special Happiness', or did you forget about that, too?"

Kame rubs at his forehead as Junno turns and starts to walk off. He gets to the corner and stops and turns again, gives Kame an expectant, pointed look.

Giant dork.

Kame might have ran to catch up, though.
